Urhobo, Itsekiri & Ijaw Kings

Warri Aboriginals~

Urhobo, Itsekiri & Ijaw...

 Warri & Its Environ?

The question is who own Warri and  and  who are the aboriginals of Warri City(Urban)?

Moreover they are regions in Nigeria with rural and urban areas...The highly developed areas is what is called Warri Urban. A city is a conglomerate of several developed towns/communities with a common goal of urbanization.

Warri is in Delta South of the South South Region of Nigeria in West Africa. There is a city in Warri, which is called Warri City. Most people do not understand the term Warri and Warri City(Urban)... The whole section of all the local government areas that made Warri is called "Warri." The urban towns/cummunities of Warri is what is called Warri City(Warri Urban)...

Urban simply means developed areas with coperate infrastructures and top amenities... It's this urban towns/communities of Warri that's now called Warri City...

Basically... Delta is divided into 3 senatorial districts.. The Delta North ,Delta Central and Delta South. Though we gonna deliberate on Delta South and a little informations on Delta Central.

1. Delta North :

Igboid Group
These are Aniomas (diffrent sub groups of igbo).

2. Delta Central :

Urhobo Couples
These are Urhobos (Edoid ).

3. Delta South :

Itsekiri(Yoruboid), Isoko(Edoid), Ijaw & Urhobo(Edoid).
These are Itsekiris, Ijaws, Isokos and Urhobos. With proper observation you could observe that Urhobo people are both natives of Delta Central and Delta South, though they constitute a minimum population in Delta South unlike Delta Central where they occupied massively.

Proximity:

There is a very close margin between Delta South and Delta Central; Inshut, you wouldn't seperate them because the massive  Urhobo Kingdoms of Delta Central also constitute two other Urhobo Kingdoms in Delta South. Moreover, according to recent developments they are not much physical barriers in between their boundaries which generally makes the two senatorial zones fit together.

The kingdom  of Urhobos in Delta South constitutes 75% of Warri Urban land masses, while the other Urban areas are 25% Itsekiris. Remember at this moment we are talking of the city urban towns/communities of Warri total... "I am still going to repeat this paragraph at the later part of this topics... please take note of this particular paragraphs."

Divisions:

How is Warri diveded? Warri is divided into 3 L.G.A., Warri North, Warri South and Warri South West.

Warri North: Predominantly occupied and owned by 85% Itsekiris, 25% Ijaws... No Urhobo can claim ownership or can be an aboriginal of Warri North. Warri North belongs to Itsekiri and Ijaws. Some important communities/towns in Warri north are Koko etcs... Warri north constitute a larger part of Warri in general, but the city is not situated in Warri North.

Warri South West:

These L.G.A also constitutes Ijaws and Itsekiris.. The Ijaws constitute  70% and Itsekiri 30%.. No Urhobo tribe in Warri South West. It belongs to Ijaws and Itsekiris... Note that  Warri South West doesn't have the standard urbanisation in Warri South.

Warri South:

This is the major hub of Warri... It encompasses the maga urban sections of Warri. There are also deep rural areas in Warri South... in combination of the rural and urban areas of Warri South, it  constitute 50% Urhobos, 45% Itsekiri  and 5% Ijaws according to land masses and population density.

Warri South lay ownership to the Mega Urban Towns of Warri which is 75 Urhobos, 27% Itsekiris and 3% Ijaws  according to land mass and population density. In this particular paragraph we are talking about the Urban towns of Warri, not the whole Warri South or Warri in general.

As mentioned earlier Warri South constitutes a rural and urban section(City).

Regarding only the rural areas of Warri South, 80% are Itsekiris and 20% are Urhobos according to population density. They are only 2 communities of Urhobos in the rural areas of Warri South, which are Oteghele and Ukpokiti, while the other major rural areas are of Itsekiris.

Moreover, right in the urban section, Warri South is owned and occupied by Urhobos 70%, Itsekiris 25% and Ijaws 5% .

 Warri Urban:

Urhobo Kingdoms:

Agbarha-Ame and Okere-Urhobo Monarch of Warri South(Urban), Wado City.

Communities:

Warri Stadium @Agbassa

Otovwodo(Agbassa),

Igbudu,

Edjeba,

Ogunu,

Okurede Urhobo,

Okumagba Layout,

Odion Urhobo,

Orere.

Itsekiri Kingdom

World Of Life Bible Church, Ajamimogha,Warri.
There is only one kingdom of Itsekiris in Warri , which is also in Warri Urban with 25% population unlike the Urhobos constituting 70% dominance both in population and land density.

Communities:

Ekurede Itsekiri,

Ugbuwangwe,

Ajamogha

Pessu.

Ijaw Kingdom:

GRA....

Notice:

The Urban section of Warri South is densely dominated and owned by Urhobo people  of Agbarha Ame and Okere Urhobo. Warri urban is more habitable and highly developed because it's in the hinterland(Low water areas)   while the other areas of Warri urban are in lowland(Water areas) which regrettably reduces structural developments.

This is one of the major reason the Urhobo  kingdoms in the uplands  of Warri Urban in Warri South  are highly developed than other part of Warri which are lowland.

The Itsekiris are not a lazy people, likewise the Ijaws, but due to lack of inhabitable environments that couldn't accommodate the standard of a mega urbanised projects, led to the slow development of their territories.

I previously mentioned the close proximity between Delta South and Delta Central. Warri that is in Delta South is slowly expanding into Delta Central(Urhobo Lands), of another senatorial districts,  which is not suppose to be so, because each districts ought to maintain her own territories, according to the Nigeria laws.

Though, due to the Urhobos of Delta Central welcoming the approved development of their other Kingdoms in Delta South , they allowed the constructions of many activities which may be situated in  Warri South into Delta Central( Major Urhobo Lands). And this is one major issues between Warri of Delta South and Delta Central(Urhobo). All these are happening because they are no available spaces  fitted enough to establish more of the city plans of Warri thereby extending her projects into another territories which are also locally, state  and federally approved.

Delta Central(Urhobo) Infastructures Named After Warri(Wrong Naming).

1. Warri Airport in (Osubi-Okpe L.G.A,-Delta Central),

2. Warri Refinery in (Ekpan-Uvwie L.G.A-Delta Central),

3. Warri Train Station in (Ujevwu, Udu L.G.A., -Delta Central),

4. NNPC in (Ekpan-Uvwie L.G.A.- Delta Central).... etcs.

This is as simple as a.b.c... The Government built a company in your ancestral lands and named it after another people. Or the Government initial plans was to establish infastructures in Warri but due to unavailable spaces they expanded their City plans into Delta Central(Urhobo Major Tertitories).

Later on the people of the other  geopolitical zones are now expanding their own territories and claiming ownership over those companies built in your lands🀭 because it was named after them.

From your own observations who do you think are the real land bearers of  those companies built in Delta Central(Urhobo Lands) but named with Warri (Delta South) πŸ˜€?
